The irregularity in periods is common when contraceptive pills are taken for such a long time. It’s difficult to tell when it will normalise; sometimes it may occur instantly or take 4-6 months or upto a year.
Fertility also takes same amount of time to return. The best advice that I would have given to my patient is to use alternative methods of contraception like barrier methods till the period normalises. Only after normalisation, I would advise them to try for conception.
But becoming pregnant much before normalisation of periods is also possible but it’s difficult to predict why the periods are missed as in your case now.
