Does Prednisone Increases The Blood Sugar Levels?

what can be done to prevent prednizone from increasing blood sugars in diabetics (renal transplantation). I take 5 mg orally once per day (early AM) and control my glucose leve;s fairly well during the day, yet by 8 PM, my glucose levels run up to 15 - 20 mmol/dltre

Good day.
This is what which is expected when you take Prrednisolone. It raised the noon and afternoon blood sugars mainly. Are you on insulin??
The way to tackle this woould be to add or increase the dose of your intermediate acting insulin in the morning. Example: Increase morning dose of Mixtard/Insulatard. However, prescribing a dose via internet is not feasible and a number of factors need to be looked in to. Please see your endocrinologist or diabetes specialist so that he can advice you further
