Does Susten And Duphaston Help In Avoiding The Miscarriage To Happen?

Hi, I am in my 6th week pregnancy currently. Yesterday, I had my first USG done. Doc said heartbeat is there and baby's growth is fine. Last year I had a miscarriage as the sac was not growing as per the baby's growth. The doctor has prescribed the following medicines and one injection weekly for a month.

1. Susten 200 mg - One daily Vaginal
2. Duphaston 20 mg - Twice daily
3. Injection - Fortigyn HP 5000 units IMI weekly once (one I took yesterday)
4. Folmet - once daily (I could get Folizorb from the chemist. Is it equivalent to Folmet or I need to find Folmet)

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Since you have had a history of one prior miscarriage , it is important to have proper support during this pregnancy for you.
WIth women at risk of miscarriage due to prior bad obstetric history, progesterone support is a must.
Progesterone supplementation during early pregnancy has been shown to reduce chances of miscarriage and adverse fetal outcomes.
Susten contains natural micronized progesterone which is a must for pregnancy support.
Vaginal progesterone is much better absorbed than oral progesterone.
Duphaston also is dihydrogestone, which increases the chance of successful pregnancy.
Fortigyn injections are HCG injections which should be taken until placental function fully takes over at the beginning of the second trimester.
Folizorb is fine, instead of Folmet, you can safely take that, as the content is the same - folic acid.
Do not worry as the treatment prescribed to you is ideal.
Avoid sex, intercourse and stress.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
