Does Xarlto Affects My Cholesterol And Blood Sugar?

I was diagnosed in December 2013 with lupus anti-coagulant as a result of a trip to the er and a blood clot in my lung. I was put on xarelto since my diastolic blood pressure has increased about 25% and normally hovers in the mid to high 90s. I went last week for blood work and now my cholesterol and blood sugar are out range. Otherwise I have been a fairly heathy 56 year old. Any chance xarelto is causing this?

Hello,

Xarelto is anticoagulant and prevents blood clotting. It has nothing to do with high cholesterol and diabetes. These things need to be managed separately with expert. For high cholesterol with obesity (due to pancreatitis), diabetes, and blood pressure raise the tendency of clot formation. Please don't worry, timely steps to control the thing from all angles would give positive results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
