Does Apple Cider Vinegar Interact With Aczone Gel, Azorac Cream And Doxycycline Prescribed For Acne?

i am a 20 year old female, 130 pounds, i just started an acne regimine with a .5% aczone gel in the morning, and a 1%tazorac cream at night, plus an oracea 40mg doxycycline capsule daily. i use organic apple cider vinegar on my face a few times a day. i have oily skin and i was told it will help that, without upsetting the ph or moisture of my skin. i'm wondering if the apple cider vinegar is too harsh to interact with the 2 topical and 1 oral medication i am now taking.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I will advice you against using vinegar while you are on topical antiacne treatment.
Vinegar is harsh to the skin and you should avoid using it taking into account the fact that the topical medication that you have been asked to use at night contains tazarotene, which is a topical retinoid and makes skin sensitive, therefore there is a chance that you might develop irritation to vinegar.
In fact, tazarotene is itself irritant by its own self and using it on skin makes the skin prone to easily develop irritation to even minor irritants, therefore, it should be used for cautiously specially early into therapy i.e either every alternate night or for 2 hours daily, till the skin gets used to it.
You may continue with the oral medication, however.
