Hello,
Multiload may cause side effects few days after insertion but these symptoms usually get better quickly.
However, every patient is unique, some may experience no side effects at all while others do complain of discomfort &
restlessness.
Side effects after multi-load insertion are heavy,
irregular periods, abdominal cramps,
spotting between periods.
Patients do gain weight if they do not follow a healthy lifestyle. IUD's do not protect you from STD.
Before inserting IUD, your gynaecologist will do a physical examination of your pelvis & evaluate if your vaginal conditions are safe for IUD insertion.
Patients having pelvic infections, history of
abnormal vaginal bleeding,
breast cancer, etc are not eligible for IUD insertions.
Mirena is a widely used IUD. However, the gynaecologist who examines you will tell you if you need an IUD that uses hormones or the IUD that doesn't use hormones.
It depends upon your physical & hormonal conditions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
