Does The Ultrasound Report Indicate Any Signs Of Ovarian Cancer?

I have a question. My mother who is 69 yrs old had some spotting, went into the doctor and had an ultra sound done. The results are - a mass the size of a pear on her ovary and her Endometrial stripe thickness is 25 mm. The endometrium is thickened, irregular and has cystic changes. The rt ovary is abnormal it has a large complex cystic mass. It demonstrates thick internal septations and solid mural nodules suspicious for cystadenoma or cystandenocarcinoma. We have her schedule for a total hysterectomy in 2 weeks ( is this too long to wait?). The doctor said that there is a 50/50 chance it could be cancer, and is leaning towards the cancer. what are your thoughts of her having Ovarian Cancer or it being benign? She is a non smoker - smoked for 20 yrs (in her younger years)... She is healthy otherwise.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
As your doctor said is true & there is 50/50 chance of it being a cancer. One more issue is that of thickened endometrium. Endometrial thickness of 25mm at that age is not normal (unless she is taking hormone replacement therapy; but 25mm is still not normal) & needs evaluation to rule out endometrial cancer & decide extant of surgery beforehand (before going in operation theater). Kindly discuss this issue with your doctor.
Regards.
