Hello,
Hello,
I went through your problem. Usually
pancreatitis is diagnosed by the onset and severity of pain and Serum
Amylase level.
The diagnosis depends on the nature of the spot. The spot may cystic or solid.
Whether cystic or solid a complete further investigations like CT or MRI may be needed to arrive at a diagnosis. Loss of weight and the feeling of weakness may associated with the pancreatic problem. Treatment depends as per the result.
Best wishes
Others can include changes in the
pancreas from chronic pancreatitis.
The following are more cystic in nature:
Pseudocysts of the pancreas.
Serous cystadenoma (benign small cyst seen in elderly patients)
Choledochocele
Of course, this depends on if the "spot" seen on the
ultrasound was solid, or cystic. Nevertheless, this should be followed up with a CT of the abdomen by your doctor and further workup, which may include a biopsy of the mass.
