Dull Pain In Chest On Swallowing Cold Beverages. Causes And Treatment?
For about a month now I ve noticed that swallowing a cold beverage creates a dull pain in my upper right chest . The pain disappears right away and is not present with tepid or hot food and beverages. After drinking a cold drink the pain subsides to a dull ache that then disappears entirely. Any idea what is causing this?
Hi welcome to HCMForum. From the description you have given you must have an idea that you are allergic to cool beverages. And they are causing acute gastric irritation. Some beverages changes its composition when they are cool and cause gastric irritation. cool drinks and beverages are not causing gastric irritation. Only remedy is not to take cool beverages.
I advise you to consult a physician for remedy , he may suggest a remidy and treatment for such reaction.you may need to test the blood for eosinofelia when there is gastric irritation.
besides iadvise you an alternative for it as take food or snaks before drinking cold beverage. Thanks for calling.
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
You may have esophageal spasm, precipitating after taking cold drinks.
You should go for Barium swallow test and chest x ray.
Get well soon,
Sincerely,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
