Explain Sore And Swollen Tongue And Gland In Ear And Neck With Diagnosed Blockage In Sinus
The gland in the left neck and ear area is swollen and my tongue is red, extremely sore. I have had a sinus X-ray come back with a blockage in the left maxial sinus which may be a cyst or a polyp. The tongue started getting sore today and the gland swelled up this evening. I am already on antibiotics for sinus infection
As per your query you are diagnosed with blocked sinus and you have sore tongue along with swollen glands . Well it seems to me that you are suffering from severe infection and infection ahs spread to the surroundings . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again . Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics . Doctor may also order CT scan to confirm the cyst and polyp . In severe case swollen glands may be removed and polyp or cyst can be removed surgically . As per as tongue problem is concerned it occur due due to dehydration caused by infection . If condition doesn't get better then consult oral pathologist also to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes like glossitis or swollen taste buds . For now do warm saline rinses and take steam .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
