Extra Skin In Throat, Cough, Headaches. Strep Test Negative. Epiglottis Or Lingual Tonsillectomy?

Sure, my child has an extra tongue like patch of skin or floppy skin she just noticed when she put a flashlight to her throat and said ahhhhhhhhh. She has had A croupy cough for awhile, and 3 weeks ago had a sore throat , tiny rash on trunk and headaches a lot. She got swabbed for strep and they said it was negative. I am concerned that it could be epiglottis or lingual tonsillectomy .

HI I have gone through your mail and as you said that your child is having an extra tongue at the back of throat on saying ahhhhhh,he has severe cough.He had already fever and rashes on abdomen few days back,on analysing your symptoms I am suspecting that your child is suffering from pharyngitis.As for as your observation for extra tongue is concern,I am suspecting that you are seeing either tip of epiglottis or lymphoid tissue of base of tongue (Lingual Tonsil),this confussion may be clear by clinical examination by your E.N.T.doctor.Thanks.
