Fainting Before Vomiting, Nausea After Wisdom Teeth Removal, Breathlessness, Rapid Eye Movement. Scared
My 17 year old daughter hs started fainting right before she vomits......two separate times earlier this year she had the stomach bug and told us she woke up in the middle of the night on the bathroom floor right as she was about to vomit. Then yesterday, she had her wisdom teeth out and was very nauseaus. She fainted in bed and i witnessed it for the first time. It almost looked like a mini seizure to me, she stopped breathing for a few seconds, she had rapid eye movement, and her arms tightened across her chest . She is perfectly healthy and has no allergies. Very scary.

Thanks for a vivid description. It does in fact looks like seizure. She seems to be prone for recurrent seizures. Nausea and vomiting may be part of seizure itself many times. You need to consult a neurologist who can then guide you about further investigations for your daughter. Now that you know that it starts with nausea - seek immediate medical help when it happens. Video of her made during the event would be quite helpful for the treating physician.

By what you have described, it does look like a seizure to me as well. What i feel is that the nausea after extraction can be due to the antibiotics and pain killers which the dentist must have prescribed tp prevent infection, resulting in triggering seizures. Once she stops taking the medicines the nausea should stop or else to prevent it she can also take an anti emetic pill ie: a drug to stop nausea. But i would strongly advice you to consult a neurologist for her seizures so that she can be treated for the same at the earliest.

Wisdom tooth extraction is not a simple procedure and often associated with post operative complications like pain, swelling, prolonged numbness, fever , malaise.
Nausea and vomitting is due to the use of antibiotics and analgesics prescribed to you , i would suggest you to stop the medications and take complete rest, you can take antiemetic drug .
You dont worry about the symptoms as they will subside after sometimes.
Follow the post operative instructions given by the Dentist properly.
Maintain a good oral hygiene.
Use antiseptic mouthwash rinses and lukewarm saline gargles.

Antibiotics and analgesics,usually prescribed after wisdom tooth extraction, are to prevent infection at the site of extraction and to promote healing.
