Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
Do you have any seizure history in family?
What about his birth history?
What about his developmental mile stones?
It seem he is delayed in developmental milestones as per your complaints.
If it is a just simple
febrile seizures without any abnormality on EEG and without any clinical risk factors, continuous medication for fits is not required.
But in
complex febrile seizure, with risk factors such as developmental delay, positive family history, EEG abnormality, child may require fits drugs on a long term basis.
EEG is showing abnormality with
generalized epileptic disorder.
So you are on the right path and you need to continue the medication as per the doctor advise.
If you want, you can go for a
second opinion with a pediatric
neurologist regarding the advise.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
