Feeling Of Tube Like Structure Running Down The Bladder Region While Lying On Back. Sign Of Injury?
Hi,
I am a 23 year old mail and have a concern about my lower left abdominal region. If I relax and lay on my back, I can feel a long tube like structure around 4 inches long, going all the way down to my bladder region. 5 years ago I did take a football helmet to that region and had been checked for damage, but none was found. Could it be a lingering injury? Should I be concerned with my colon?
The long tube like structure is unlikely to be a mass arising from the colon. A past injury can result in scarring which may produce a cord like or a tubular structure. An ultrasound of the abdomen is needed to know what structure in the abdomen is causing the discomfort, is it some organ or soft tissue mass or scarred tissue.
So, consult your doctor for a clinical examination , investigations and relevant management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
