Hello Dear and thanks for the query
The swelling in the left foot with pain along the blood vessel can be due to Deep vein thrombosis. Yes there is possibility of swelling is due to injury to the foot, it can be reduced by foot elevation and analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Wearing an elastic bandage and do hot fermentation of the foot. If these all measures helps you than continue with it. Else consult your physician and get your color Doppler of the limb done to rule out DVT. Hope this will help you.
Best Wishes and get well soon.
