Had An Accident And Hit Head. Was Taken Hospital And Released After Doing X-ray. Having Fever. Advise?
My niece is 8 years old & she was in an auto accident early yesterday- she was seated in the rear passenger side and she hit her head on the door & she went by ambulance to the hospital and was x-rayed then released by the hospital but has been running a fever (around 101) since last night-should we take her back to the hospital?
HI Thank for choosing HCM,, head injury case, should be kept under observation at least 48 hours, this is the rule, and it should be strictly followed, if the head injury patient sent back without observation, and if any thing happened after 48 hours then it becomes difficult to judge,, although in your case fever is almost nothing to take with accident( unless there is laceration and got the infection) it could be a co incidence, still i would advise you to take her to the hospital without taking any chance, have good day
