Had Nose Cauterized, Have Sneezing, Have Drainage From Nose. On Loratadine. Help?

hello, I had my nose cauterized yesterday and I feel sneezy. the doctor told me I would be experience light bleed , i dont see blood coming outisde my nose anymore, but on inside draining and I had to spit is dark sometimes fresh blood, its only little amount, what would I take ? I took only loratadine just to stop myself from sneezing . hope you could answer my question thank you so much.

Hi thanks for your question.
Sneezing is due to irritation of the nasal mucosa by cautery. Little amount of blood is expected as told by your physician. The dark blood could be because of 2 reasons, one mixing of blood with ointment which is used after cauterization. Second the dark blood post cautery is expected as cautery burns the tissue. You can continue with tab lortidine, additionally you can use xylometazoline nasal drops which will reduce the irritation and stop sneezing. Re consultation with treating physician is advisable

Hi,
Thanks for contacting HCM
As you have cauterized your nose yesterday . This is the minor surgery in which bleeding so much less. therefor preventing this minute bleeding requires cold fomentation around the nose 4-5 times, avoid pain killers as much as possible and use botroclot nasal drops three times a day.
