Suggest Treatment To Heal Scabs Left After A Cautery Treatment

I have had cautery treatment under my eyes to remove white lumps 4 days ago and was told not to clean the area for 2 days - after this I could clean with water only - also informed I could use vaseline if needed but warned not to knock off the scabs. I used a small amount of vaseline today as they were feeling tender however this has softened the scabs and I am scared that the scab may come off leading to permanent scarring - how should I deal with this.

Hi,

I would recommend you to apply topical antibiotic like Fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily for 7-10 days. This will help resolving your problem.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
