Had Several Ruptured, Bulging And Herniated Discs In My Back, Had A Cervical Fusion Titanium Plate, Pain In Shoulders, Neck And Head. Could It Be The Discs?
I have had several ruptured, bulging and herniated discs in my back - cervical and lumbar . I had a cervical fusion w/ titanium plate 1.5 years ago. I still have trouble above and below the plate and lumbar area. I was diagnosed with Anklosing Spondylitis 5 yrs. ago. The neurosurgeons will not do any further surgery on the spine now. In Dec. 2012 I started passing out for no reason. I then started getting other spells involving light headedness and shock-like jolts starting in my head and going throughout my body, sometimes making my arms jerk. I have been undergoing tests for this condition - no diagnosis yet. They have ruled out heart trouble and sleep apnea. Now I get hot sensations starting in my shoulders and going up my neck and head. Could it be the discs?
The possibility of your symptoms being secondary to cervical spine problems is definitely there. The loss of consciousness needs to be assessed by a neurologist to rule out CNS disease.Ruling out aortic valvular insufficiency and aortitis is needed.
