Hard Lump On Collarbone, Redness, Swelling. Due To Cellulite Infection?

My friend has a 2 inch long hard painful lump directly on her collarbone. She woke up with it this morning, it is warm and painful to the touch, redness and swelling over the 2 inch long area, no surrounding swelling of tissue , no itching associated with the lump. It almost looks like something could be under the skin, but she stated it is not a burn and not a suspected insect bite due to no itching/burning sensation, and no surrounding redness and swelling. Could it be something related to an infection regarding cellulitis? Thank you very much for any advice.

Hi dear thanks for your question,you had asked what could be swelling on the collar bone of your friend about 2 inch long,warm red and painful to touch ,dear all the feature of the swelling you described, it looks like it is an infected swelling ,infection could be of hair follicle associated with cellulitis or it could be an unnoticed trauma ,which got infected.since it is not itchy ,so insect bite is ruled out.what ever the case your friend is advised to take antibiotics like leofloxicin and analgesic anti inflammatory drugs.and if puss develops in the swelling ,which will produce fever and swelling will not regress,your advised to get the puss drained by surgeon.
