Has Blood In Spit. No Pain. What Should I Do?

Good evening: My 21 year old son just came back from his work out and when he went to the bathroom to wash his hands and throw some water on his face, he noticed some traces of blood in his spit. He says it is the second time it has happened, the first time was last year. He doesnt complain of pain of any type and the blood is bright red, not dark in any way. Thanks in advance for your reply, Concerned Father.
