Have A Bump On The Head Along With Mild Headache

I got hit on the top left side of my head playing basketball and now there is a bump there but it isn t really painful. I have a mild headache, but I had headaches sometimes and they go away after taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen. I took one ibuprofen. Should I be concerned, or will the bump on my head subside?

Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury to the head while playing basket ball and having a bump at the injured site associated with headache.
The bump indicates collection of blood in the layers of the scalp as a result of injury. This will decrease over a period of 3-4 weeks and no need to worry as you are not having symptoms indicating concussion like dizziness, severe headache associated with vomiting...
Hence no need to worry these symptoms will come down with analgesic drugs.

Thank you
