Have Blood Discharge Along With Mucous. Had Mirena Removed Earlier. What To Do?
I had my Mirena removed on 3/28 I started my first cycle on 4/29. It lasted 4 days and all was well. Then around 5/7 I noticed old blood mixed with mucous like discharge. It lasted for about 24 hours. Now today I have the discharge again but it is more mucous than blood. My lower abdomen aches (not sharp pains) and it feels weird when I sit down. Like the ache is worse for a few seconds after I sit down on the couch. It is hard to explain. I just want to know if this is something I should worry about. The feeling is not that of cramps but just an all over discomfort .
Hi dear user, thanks for your query. Your symptoms are suggestive of some lower genital tract infection. In my opinion, clotrimazoleclindamycin vaginal pesseries are good in treating such type of infections. In addition, metronidazole tablets 500 mg should also be taken twice a day for 7 days. These cover most of the common causes of lower genital infections. If symptoms persist or repeated infections occur then blood glucose levels should be checked.
