Have Blurred Vision With Flashing Light Effect. Tired And Dehydrated. Had Bike Accident And Compressed Vertebrae. Related?
I have blurred vision with kind of a flashing light / pinwheel effect. I have had this in the past when I've been very tired and dehydrated, and am currently fairly dehydrated. I hadn't had this happen for a while but this is the second time in a week. I am well rested today and working on hydrating.
I did have a mtn bike crash about 6 weeks ago, where I landed on my head. I compressed a few vertebrae in my upper back and have been in a neck brace since. I'm supposed to be done with that this week following an appt with my orthopedist.
I drank a few ounces of water about 15 min ago and the tracers seem to be subsiding.
when you see orthopedist you may inquire if neck injury has some relation to blurred vision/flashes as may be neuro-vascular insufficiency has to rule out. With normal diet and fluids intake, dehydration shouldn't occur as presumably you do not have much physical activity to cause dehydration. Maintain plenty of fluids orally.
