Have Painful Blisters, Crack On The Buttocks. Treated For Impetigo. On Antibiotic. Happens After Shaving Pubic Hair. Suggestions?
Hi. I'm a 19 year old female. Last year around this time I had painful blisters and open sores up and down the crack of my buttocks. It eventually spread to my legs. I went to the hospital and treated me for impetigo. They prescribed me am antibiotic and it cleared right up. It just recently came back. I feel like I get these blisters and sores right after I shave the pubic hair from my butt crack. What is happening? Is this impetigo? What should I do?
Hello, Thank you for the query. I have gone through your question and understood your concern. You may heard about the word recurrent folliculitis which is caused due to ingrown hair after shaving. In my opinion you are facing the same problem. As you have already treated for this and recovered it is somewhat clear that it might be a recurrence and if your were my patient then I advice you to trim hair instead of shaving, You may wash the affected area with triclosan soap frequently and apply fusidic acid cream. And I will also give tab.azithromycin 250mg dalily for 1 week for better results. But as these are the prescription drugs I request you to consult your treating physician to confirm the diagnosis. Thank you. Hope I have answered your query.
