Have Polyps, Removed. Had Colonoscopy. On Liquid Diet. What Else Can Be Done?
I had a colonoscopy today and some polyps were removed - one was bigger I think and so the doc had to "pin" it?? Suture? Was slightly dozy when I listened. Anyway I had to go one more day on liquid diet ..tomorrow how do I eat to make sure I don't tear the "sutures'..or is that not relevant? i.e. they will be fine and just disintegrate when they are ready no matter how I ease into "normal" eating??
Hi ! From your history it seems that your apprehension is not justified. If there would have been some fear of the sutures getting torn due to ingested food, then your gastro-enterologist who performed the procedure might have informed you not to eat solid food for the specified time. If there is no such advice given to you during discharge after the procedure, then you can have revert back to your normal diet gradually. In case of any further doubt, I think the gastro enterologist who did the procedure is the best person to answer this as he knows what has been done inside. Thanks and all the best.
