hi i have rhematoid arthritis am only 45 and this wk my chin has been feeling tight, and my lower lip is split, im very worried that i might have arthritis in my chin, my hands are quite bad and are sad to look at re the shapes. what do you think.the doctor has said i have it in my neck , and noticing this wk my neck is more sore than usual. many thanks AAAA
Hello, Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that affects any synovial joint in the body. In your case, possibly the temporomandibular joint might have been involved with the disease process leading to tightness in the jaw & chin. You should get an xray for your T.M joint to confirm the radiological diagnosis. There is no way but to use DMARDS ( disease modifying antirheumatic drugs) for the rest of your life. Good luck
