Have Three Cervical Spine Discs Which Have Been Causing Pain, Weakness, Pins And Needles. Now What?
I have three cervical spine discs which have been causing me pain for awhile. Recently, i have been experiencing severe pain in both arms I have weakness in my fingers and fists and have pins and needles. This morning I had difficulty holding my coffee mug. I have been seeking a pain dr. But I am more concerned about the significant weakness. Can you shed some light on this Sincerely, Lara
The symptoms of pain in both arms, weakness in fingers & hands and pins & needles on fingers suggest a cervical spondylosis. This is associated with pain in the cervical region and symptoms in the upper limb.
This condition is caused by degenerative process (related to increasing age) and strain. It is commonly seen in people who sit for long hours in front of computers, who do not maintain a good posture, travelers, farm workers, etc.
You need to visit your doctor, orthopediatician preferably for clinical examination and X-ray of the cervical spine.
Management of this condition is primarily conservative.
It consists of physiotherapy, a collar to maintain correct posture and pain killers to relieve pain.
Thanks and take care
