Head Injury. Have Epilepsy, Sleeplessness, Migraines, Depression And Weight Gain. On Lamotrigine. What Is Going On?

I have epilepsy caused by an injury to the head. I've been taking lamotrigine for 2 years, but only 50% of recommended dosage due to terrible migraines and sleeplessness it caused. I'm having seizures about once a month, plus depression and weight gain. Wondering if I should change to a different med or try to increase lamotrigine?

Topomac would be a good drug for you to change over it controls headaches, seizures as well has a side effect of weight loss .it has other side effects of mild tingling in the limbs, sedation and very rarely renal stones which go away on stopping medication.periodic ophthalmic check may be required for ocular pressures once in 6 months
