Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Head Reeling On Waking, Continuously High BP Level, High Sugar Levels. Causes?
During the past few weeks, when I get up, my head reels. I checked my bp . It is around 165 / 90, but it has been 150 for many years and the doctors have said it is OK for me. I am 68 years old. Otherwise, my health is normal and i am an active person and a teacher at the local University. My glucose level is a bit high recently, around 160. What could be the reasons.
It is probable that you may have developed Essential Hypertension. Please keep serial recordings of your blood pressure and if it is persistently above 160/90, you may have to take a small dose of oral antihypertensive medication. I suppose the glucose level of 160 is taken at a random. Please get your fasting and post prandial blood sugar levels tested to look for any abnormal values.
Make sure you drink plenty of fluids orally. I am glad that you are active and healthy. I do not think there is anything seriously wrong with your health.
I wish you a quick recovery and a healthy life.
Take care.
