High Temperature, Sweating Heavily, Shoulder, Neck Pain. What Could This Be?

My temperature is around 95.8 degrees. I have been sweating heavily, though it is cool at the moment, and have had a persistent pain in the back of my neck/ shoulder area. I m just wondering if this is a simple fever of some sort or if I should heading to the emergency room.

Hi,
You may be developing an infection that has caused a meningitis-type inflammation causing your neck and shoulder pain. Take paracetamol and ibuprofen. Drink plenty of water and rest if possible. You do not need to go to the ER at present. However, if your neck pain worsens or you develop sensitivity to the light, this would be an indication to go to the ER.
I hope you feel better soon.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
