Hot Flashes, Night Sweats, Taken Birth Control Pills. Are Three Monthly Birth Control Pills Available?
I am 52 years old and having 15 to 20 hot flashes a day, waking up five or six times a night due to night sweats and/or hot flashes. I have taken birth control pills before but with those I had periods that lasted for 10 to 12 days. Is there something besides birth control pills that I could take that would not cause me to have menstrual periods? Would I be able to take Seasonale or another form of three month birth control pills?
at your age, it is usually safer to take hormone replacement pills than to use birth control pills. that is because the doses of hormone are much less than in birth control pills. however the dose is enough to control the symptoms very well. so whines birth control pills can be used though, but a lot dependa on your own health and risk factors, such as risk for breast cancer, heart disease, uterine cancer and others. all of that will go into your doctors decision when he/she decides together with you which treatment will work the best for you. please let me know of you need more help, I hope I answered your question.
