How Can Osteochondral Lesion Of Talar Dome Be Treated?
How do I recover from a osteochondral lesion of the lateral talar dome with unstable subchondral bone plate fragment, moderate ankle effusion, and a chronic full thickness tear of the anterior talofibular ligament and scarring of the calcaneofibular ligament-I just got my MRI results back?
As the treatment line is both sides as conservative as well operative. But conservative is the one tried in the initial line of action and if it's successful than operative might not be considered.
Making the joint immobilized in case, ankle brace, crepe whatever is possible and handy will be done. Post 4-6 weeks of time if the cast is applied then physiotherapy has to begin for stabilizing the muscle and joints. Also, balance board training if improvement is found. Most cases recover with conservative management.
In case if it fails then the surgical route is opted for.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
