How Can Fungal Infection Of Nails, Teeth, Cheeks And Tongue Be Treated?
after being exposed to toxic mold for several months, the tissue involving cheeks, gums, tongue became extremely sensitivity. I could not eat even mildly seasoned food, fruit and found chewing on ice becoming the only comfort. my teeth and gums have taken a beating. I had my finger nail beds become fungi on both hands, causing the nails to become infected , nail deformation, skin around nails burning and infected. What do you think?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. Fungal infection of the oral mucosa and gums is usually caused by yeast and infection of skin, nails is caused by moulds like dermatophytes and aspergilli. As you have been having exposure to moulds you might also be showing hypersensitivity (allergy) reaction to the fungi. I suggest you get in touch with a dermatologist and get a prescription for appropriate antifungal medications, preferably Amphotericin B. Thanks.
