How Harmful Is High Blood Pressure After Having A Quintuple Bypass And Being Diagnosed With Chronic Kidney Disease?

My husband had a quintuple by-pass 18 yrs. ago. He's 75 and outside of having high blood pressure he's been doing fine. I helped him by learning all about diet for heart disease. Now he's been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, stage 3. The diet for this wants foods with low potassium, red meats, and, of course salt. His blood & urine tests show no hight potassium, salt, phosphorous, Yet he's to cut way back on protein and foods containing them. Why? There's no evidence in his test for this need. Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
He had major bi pass, and now have the kidney disease stage 3, so the doctors must be very care full.Potassium, salt, and phosphorus are not high, but if he takes them in minimal quantity also, he may get the levels increased. And kidney is more sensitive, so the doctors don't want to take risk.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts to hasten the recovery.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
