How Is Trans-dermal Patches Absorbed Through The Skin ?

I m doing a project on how Transdermal patches work. I know they penetrate through the epidermis, but how is the medication absorbed through the skin if the epidermis is waterproof? -Also, research I found was very breif so if any of you have an websites I can use, please let me know!

where u have read this?
it can transfer moist to and fro.
when we put patch in skin ,smaller amount of drug deliver through it to dermis.
due to osmolarity,lymph drainage,blood vessels drug spread to other part of the body.
search pharmacology website for more
