Hello
welcome to health care magic
Normal serum levels of prolactin are 2-25 ng/ml..But that small increment won't cause irregular periods...
Irregular periods may be because of other abnormalities like thyroid,,may be fibroid in the uterus..
you have to check thyroid profile also...
if the thyroid profile is also normal then consult gynecologist and she will prescribe the dopamine agonist tab..and soon your prolactin levels return to normal..
For further suggestions consult gynecologist..
Thank you

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Irregular periods occurs due to hormonal disturbance. Normally prolactin level should be below 25 ng/ml. So in your case its slightly high. There are certain physiological conditions where s prolactin level is high which is normal. Also s. prolactin is measured early in the morning after fasting. In other time of the day results may not be representative. certain medicines can also cause high prolactin levels. Have you got your thyroid levels tested? It is important because high prolactin can also be caused by hypothyroidism ( High TSH ). Repeat the test for prolactin and get thyroid profile done. If they are still abnormal you need to take few tablets . Once these levels are normal you ll start getting regular periods. Take care.
Hi jeevanasravanthi
welcome again to HealthcareMagic
Repeat your serum prolactin and if its high again you can start treatment after consultation with your doctor. Treatment will be in the form of tablets. Drugs like bromocriptine and cabergoline are effective in hyperprolactinemia. Start treatment only after consulting your doctor because he knows your condition and requirements better. Take care.
