How To Manage Pain While Suffering From C5-C6 Disc Osteophytes?

Sure, lets try! Ima 38 y/o male, combat veteran receiving "care" form my local va hospital. This is my latest diagnosis; central canal stenosis at C5,6 and C6,7 crowding cord. I had a MRI a month ago, the interpretation reads,
C5-6 Bulky severe disc osteophyte complex causing moderate to severe bilateral neural foraminal stenosis and moderate central canal stenosis. There is mild bilateral facet arthopathy also noted at this level.
C6-7: Severe disc osteophyte complex somewhat asymetric with posterior right spurring encroaching upon the right lateral recess resulting in moderate to severe canal stenosis and severe right neural foraminal stenosis and moderate to severe neural stenosis.
<my Veterans Administration (VA) DR thinks Im a a "seeker" and is only prescibing me hydrocodone 7.5/500 qid. He's prescribed Morphine 15mg in the past, but i didnt like the side effects, and the strength of this medication. Idk how to get my pain issued communicated with him!?
