I have been having eye pressure pain since March. Have been on various treatments with no relief. I am a 58 year old female. I have had various test including a mri which has shown nothing abnormal. I have exhausted my family Dr, and local opthamologist. I am currently seeing a specialist at the Duke eye center, and have already had a 2nd mri with no new changes. It is only effecting my right eye. Feels like pressure in the back of my eye pushing it forward. Painful, when looking in different directions. Also effecting vision, can't tolerate overhead light.
It may be because of retro orbital mild inflammation . what about redness ,thyroid profile ? You need to check your color vision also as it will be affected first in the optic nerve diseases. Sub clinical and mild inflammatory causes can be missed in MRI( 2mm cuts/sections of orbit can give better results). If color vision is getting affected then you need a course of I.V. Steroids under physician's supervision
