How To Treat Juvenile Diabetes?

My 14 y.o. son collapsed at a 3 mile cross country time trial early am, not hot. Ran 9 miles 2 days earlier, went to ER high glucose , low body temp, high CO2,they thought it was juvenile diabetes, but then glucose went down to normal within 2 hours of IV fluids. Admitted in PICU, then creatine and troponin levels rose, in PICU for 5 days with IV fluids, EKG, kidney and heart ultrasounds all neg. By 4 th day creatine level started to go back down. They attributed all of the problems to severe dehydration- I keep thinking they are missing something

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam I can understand your concern
I my opinion your doctor diagnosis might be correct as in juvinel diabetes also called type 1 diabetes it's very difficult to reduce sugar with our insulin
i guess you did not gave any history of insulin usage in hospital also
Most of change like increased co2 and creatinine occur in prerenal Failur which can be treated with intra venous fluids
relax your kid is going to be alright
