I had MRI last week. Results show I have mild chronic leukoencephalpathy . An ENT physician wanted me to have MRI to rule our audio? Neuroma as I had vertigo for over 2 weeks , some ringing in ear, and slight hearing diminished in left ear at first. What does this mean- I have read it might be inherited and also read it could be age related, I am a healthy active( ski, hike, walk) 68 year old female. Thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of vertigo over 2 weeks, diminished hearing left ear at the age of 68 when you are fully active. Your MRI shows Leukoencephalopathy, hence the neuroma is ruled out. I would advise you to get started on proper medication to symptomatically help you, get a proper second opinion regarding the ENT causes which can be due to Neuronitis, vestibulitis post-viral infection or infection causing the middle ear edema causing the vertigo and reduced hearing.
