I am 64 years old and a male... Hi there ~

If you have held a fruitful life thus far, i.e. till you are 64 years old, and the self issues are of more recent origin, I would delve more into what may be the cause of your concern. It may be that you have some issues with your family that need resolving. Your deep rooted insecurity could be a long term financial worry. Whatever the problem is, there should be a solution. I think that you should try to find out what the cause of your stressors are with the help of a counselor and a psychiatrist who can analyse and let you know what may help.

I hope this helped and take care of yourself. Have a good day !

Psychiatrist Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar's  Response

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

It is good that you have been able to realize your problems and have sought help. It appears that your problems are resulting in distress to you and issues with your family also.

You will first need a detailed evaluation by a psychiatrist - which will include a detailed history and a psychological assessment - in order to understand the nature of your problems. Further management can then be planned accordingly. There are effective psychological therapies like CBT which can help you deal with your problems.

Wish you all the best.
