Irregular Periods. Partner Had Vasectomy. Pregnant?
Hi, for approximately the last year I've had irregular periods, usually taking place every 2 to 3 weeks. They are regular and last 3 to 6 days. For the past 6 months they've been clock work every 2 weeks but I am almost at my 4 week mark and haven't had my period yet. My question is could I be pregnant but I would say no since my husband had a vasectomy just shy of 4 years ago. However, I was very sick with a cold (sinus and ear infection which I never get sick), I've been extremely tired lately, either SUPER hungry or throwing up, sore and a bit enlarged breasts... I took a home test but it came up negative. I don't want to jump to conclusions but... -Priscilla
Hello
thanks for your query.
If you took a home pregnancy test , and it was negative, chances are you are mostly not pregnant.
Also, a vasectomy is quite reliable, that too, after 4 years, but there is a very remote chance of failure of vasectomy leading to an inadvertent pregnancy.
Also, you should wait for a aweek more before repeating your pregnancy test.
All the symptoms you describe could be attritubed to pre menstrual symptoms also.
Just wait and watch.
Take a repeat test after a week.
If you fail to have your periods by then, please consult a gynecologist.
take care.
