Is Hand Pain That Started With Period Related To Each Other And How Long Should I Wait For The Improvement?

Good Morning, While at work yesterday, I started my period or girly time. I had an onset of hand pain that started in my elbo and my thumb was so sore, it was painful too move it. Today it is super tender and the pain has not gone away. First question, can the two be related, period and pain? And I feel embrassed to admit this but the pain was so bad it made me cry and I feel lkike am just overreacting. How long should I wait if it has not impoveed is my second question

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Menstruation & hand pain you have ,don't seem to be related. It is just a co incidence, that both started at same time.
A hit on fore arm many a times hurts superficial nerves supplying hand &gives rise to such pain.
You can take tablets of ibuprofen paracetamol combination twice a day after food along with B1-B6-B12 pills for a week. If you don't get relief, consult a physician.
Thanks.
