Is Insulin Advisable Rather Than Medications For High Sugar Levels?

hi,      Age 32 Height 5 4 weight 69 kg My doctor started treted my rise sugar level by insulin.he said that as u r just of 32 so I preferred insulin rather than tablets. Sugar level before b/fast 149 after break fast 327       but on same day after 5 hrs 144.       Dr suggestion is right.

Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM.
Your doctor has correctly prescribed insulin for you. Insulin is necessary in insulin dependent diabetes. It is also given in non-insulin dependent diabetes based on the symptoms, patient's acceptability and HBA1c. But, insulin regimen is critical to maintain blood glucose level under control throughout the day. You haven't mentioned your insulin regimen here. So, my recommendation is to consult your doctor again to know whether any modification of the current regimen is needed or not. However, blood glucose level of 327 is definitely very high and if such fluctuations persist, your current treatment regimen needs to be modified.
