Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Safe Getting A Tdap Vaccination When Once Already Administered?
I received a tetanus vaccination in August 2007 at an urgent care branch of my main hospital, but do not remember if I was given the Td or Tdap. I ve contacted my pcp and was informed that the hospital has no record of a tetanus vaccination for me. I m going to be staying with my sister and her 6 week old baby for several weeks and she asked that I get the pertusis vaccination. Would it be safe to get the Tdap now if the vaccine I received in 2007 was a Tdap as well?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern and form the history given here I could say that if there is no record of your vaccination program and you do not know exactly that whether it is being given or not then in such situation you can go for vaccination and this is applicable for all the vaccine , take care and have a nice day.
