Is My MRI Findings Indicative Of A Stroke In The Future?
My MRI shows few bilateral cerebral ischemic foci . Exact findings : Few tiny bilateral foci of altered signal intensity are seen at both parietal regions being subcortical in location. They exhibit high signal intensity in T2 and FLAIR images, being of isointense signal intensity in T1W1 s. Should I be concerned , I do not have headaches , I went for a check up as I don t want to have a stroke. I am 73 years old Thank you for your advice
I read your query carefully and I understand your concern. Your MRI does show some small changes but I wouldn't panic as at your age that is often the case to have some small vessel involvement. A better indicator of your risk of stroke are conditions like: heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, high cholesterol, obesity. Their presence is a better indicator of stroke risk and should be addressed in order to reduce the risk of stroke in the future. Hope to have been of help, feel free to ask further questions.
