Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was prescribed omeprazole 20 mg a day for GERD by a doctor in China.Worked well with no side effects for about 6 mo then began to cause a continual annoying cough and occasional vomiting and vague back pain occasionally- no heatburn symptoms but loss of appetite. Age 58 Height 5ft 6 in, weight 70 kilos. I am working in a country with few English speaking doctors and now staying in West Africa with few qualified physicians. Should I consider changing the omeprazole to say Nexium?
