Is Surgery The Only Solution For Osteophtes ?
Mom expriencing severe back pain because of the osteophytes some where near L4,L5.What is the best approach to handle Osteophytes... is surgery the only option... as most doctors are asking not to go for a surgery and leave as is ..but the pain is unbearable..she has pain in the knee as well ....

As osteophytes are bony projectinos from vertebrae due to degenerative changes in the vertebrae,
Nerves coming from canal get stretched or injured by the osteophytes passing through it and gives pain.
There is no option other than surgery and if pain is very severe you have to go for surgery.
