Is Swelling In An Eyelid Normal After A Blow To The Forehead?

I have mild concussion after banging my forehead hard on the tailgate of my car. I vomited twice yesterday and visited a and e at my hospital. My headache is less severe today but I have noticed that the side of my eye lids by my nose are swollen. Is this to be expected after a blow to the forehead please?

Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury to the head following which you are having swelling of the eyelid.
Swelling of the eyelids is because of ecchymosis of eyelids as a result of collection of fluids and blood in the eyelids. This is common as skin of the eyelids is loose and can get distended easily.
This will resolve over 1-2 weeks as the blood gets absorbed.
Since you had vomiting following head injury concussion needs to be ruled out.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for treatment of head injury.

Thank you
